Language barriers cause misunderstandings between people and this is the most common problem faced by travelers during their journeys.
During my trip in China communication was the most difficult part, given that less than 1% of Chinese population speak English.
The only thing that helps me were pictograms. They are immediate, understood and globally recognized.
When you can convey something complex in
a simple picture, you speak a universal language.
